Registration for All Atlantic Ocean Research Forum (virtual) is now open!

Registration is now open for the All-Atlantic Ocean Research Forum (virtual, 3 – 4 December 2020).  This event is hosted by the Department of Science and Innovation, South Africa, in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission. The All-Atlantic Ocean Research Forum will provide an opportunity to a wide-ranging audience – from political leaders to researchers, academics, civil society, entrepreneurs and the youth – to engage in inspirational conversations around the Atlantic Ocean.

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted the economies of the Atlantic countries and as such, the overarching theme of this Forum will be how the Alliance can contribute to the socio-economic recovery caused by this pandemic through its joint actions. The Forum will provide a platform to showcase progress of initiatives that have been initiated to support the implementation of the Belém and Galway Statements.

The Forum will also explore key topics linked to Society Interface for a healthier Atlantic; Skills for the changing Atlantic; Atlantic Ocean collaborative and data infrastructure; and new and upcoming initiatives under the All-Atlantic Cooperation.

During the event, we will welcome a new cohort of All-Atlantic Ocean Youth Ambassadors and we will reflect together on the contribution of the All- Atlantic Ocean Alliance to the UN Decade of Ocean Science and the Sustainable Development Goals. These initiatives are aligned with the priorities set by the All-Atlantic partners, such as South Africa’s Operations Phakisa Oceans Economy, the European Union Blue Growth Strategy; the Brazilian Blue Economy; Canada’s Ocean strategy as well as that of the United States of America.

Make sure to REGISTER NOW and we will see you there!
