SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAMME

This inter-universitary master programme provides multidisciplinary training in different branches of oceanography. The areas of specialisation include open-ocean processes, global ocean change, climate and oceans, and coastal oceanography. The master is completed in 2 semesters (60 ECTS) and includes participation in an oceanographic cruise.

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAMME

This PhD programme offers training in 4 main domains: Ocean Observation and Global Change, Sustainable use of Marine Resources, Integral Management of the Sea and Marine Technology and Engineering. The programme is a core activity of the International Campus of Excelence Campus do Mar (CDM). CDM, led by University of Vigo and also promoted by the Universities of Santiago de Compostela and A Coruña, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), is a cross-border campus that includes the Portuguese Universities of Aveiro, Minho, Oporto, Coimbra and Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, plud the Polytechnic Institutes of Leiria, Oporto and Viana do Castelo. Together with several technological centers and platforms, CDM brings together the research and socioeconomic agents in the marine field of the Galicia-North Portugal Euroregion. The R&D cluster of the CDM comprises >3,000 researchers from 25 institutions with an ooutput of >600 completed doctoral theses and >10,000 publications during the last five years.
